From Offcuts to Art: How We Transform Waste into Timeless Pieces

Every Stratum Marquetry artwork begins with a careful selection of reclaimed and recycled materials from our stores. Once the materials are chosen, we decide on the Modern Marquetry pattern—sometimes an existing design, sometimes an entirely new creation.

The process unfolds step by step:
- Building a marquetry block from chosen materials, layer by layer.
- Processing the block into slices of a desired thickness.
- Laminating the slices to a substrate—often leftover plywood from other jobs.

This process ensures that every finished piece is entirely unique. No two blocks can ever be the same, meaning each client receives a one-of-a-kind work of Modern Marquetry, born from waste but transformed into art.
