At Stratum Marquetry….
We create patterned surfaces using reclaimed and recycled materials whilst adopting our own unique process we call Modern Marquetry. These surfaces can be applied to Interior projects as well as furniture & lighting products. Oh and artwork.

Getting trees in the ground
Our commitment to Plant One Cornwall of £36 per month, as well as a promise to donate a whooping 5% of our profits, means we are responsible for creating new & conserving existing woodland habitats here in Cornwall.
Recycled Plastic Only
As standard, we only use recycled plastic in our work. Those pops of colour you see in our Modern Marquetry are made from broken fishing crates, lost fishing nets, discarded builder buckets to name a few. Our local friend and sustainability partner - One Blue Eye, melts these down and creates sheet material for us to use.
Recycled CD’s
A new sustainability partnership with Revive Innovations in Bristol allows us to purchase his offcuts. He makes amazing furniture and homewares from 100% recycled CDs, and we buy his offcuts! The perfect addition of sparkle and colour in our Modern Marquetry.
B-Corp Process
A journey we know will take many hours, if not days, of work and a financial commitment. Becoming a B-Corp is a huge goal for us and believe it should be one for all businesses. Watch this space!
Material Rescue
We contribute to a circular economy by gathering timber & plastic offcuts produced by businesses far and wide. These materials, regarded as waste by these businesses, are perfect for our fine, intricate work and therefore partnerships like these benefits both us and them.
Solar Energy
The roof of our last workshop was home to an array of solar panels, unfortunately this isn’t the case on our new workshop. In the near future when we are able to, we aim to fit solar which will directly feed the plug sockets we use everyday.
Waste Management
We put all our off-cuts straight back into production and have plans to develop new Modern Marquetry styles that make use of every single piece. watch this space!
