From Waste to Wonder

The problem

Every day, perfectly usable material in the form of offcuts are discarded here in Cornwall — ending up in landfill or costly recycling systems. They are thrown away as they can’t be reused by the business that bought them, simply because they are the wrong size or shape.

We have found a way to re-purpose them using our Modern Marquetry techniques, giving them a second life. By working together, we can reduce waste, save resources, and create something extraordinary for the planet and community.

The solution

  1. Sign up as a Waste Partner – We’ll send you a short Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to confirm our partnership.

  2. Save your offcuts – Keep materials clean and in reusable condition wherever possible.

  3. Collection or drop-off – We can collect directly from you or arrange for drop-off at our workshop.

  4. Get paid – We’ll agree a fair price based on the material’s original value, adjusted for its offcut status.

  5. See them transformed – Your offcuts will be repurposed into luxury Modern Marquetry pieces and used in our free community workshops, giving them new life and purpose.

    • Timber: All types including veneer

    • Plywood: All types

    • Plastic: Blocks or sheets of recycled or reclaimed etc

    • Composite Material: Resin Board, Valchromat, Durat, Richlite, Skatlite etc

    • Flooring: Solid, engineered, laminate, click, Lino, Forbo etc

    • Wooden kitchen worktops

    • Soft metals in sheet form - Aluminium, Brass, Copper, Zinc

    • Hard metals (steel, etc.)

    • Stone, ceramics, granite, marble

    • Warped sheet material

    • Metal impregnated materials

    • Material contaminated with heavy adhesives, dirt, or chemicals
