Kitchen & Modern Marquetry Island Project

Our client was in need of a full kitchen refresh, as well as a new Kitchen island, built from scratch. The client’s kitchen carcasses were in good condition and to not waste whats good, we kept them and focused on replacing all their doors, end panels, plinths etc. During the design stage we used their new interior colour palette to choose complimentary colours, shaker style doors and designed a new functional kitchen island. Our Modern Marquetry was highlighted in the form of a HUGE stripe through a solid Oak worktop, something that took a lot of planning but is now the focal point of the kitchen. 

Materials: A mixture of solid Oak & Birch Plywood & reclaimed timbers. The Modern Marquetry was built using solid ash, highlighting the beautiful cross grain, with recycled CDs that shimmer like Mother of Pearl.

Finish: A hard-wearing hard wax oil.
