Art Gallery browsers & plinths

Interior Project | St. Ives, Cornwall

An interesting and new project for us, but a fun one thats for sure. The group of artists that feature and run this Art gallery in St Ives, Cornwall, had amazing initial ideas of design and layout. Together we designed 7 stand along art browsers, new plinths and a stylish new desk for the gallery. The browsers feature fixed and movable shelves, allowing the artist to adapt to their own work, as well as a large base with more movable supports. Everything was built using top of the range pre-finished Birch plywood.

Modern Marquetry: The gallery loved our Modern Marquetry, but felt their artistic space needed a fresh and simplistic feel, therefore no Modern Marquetry has been included.

Materials: A mixture of solid Oak and Birch Plywood.

Finish: A hard-wearing spray finish lacquer coats everything, allowing it to be wiped clean.

We asked Stratum to make some new gallery browsers for us. They also helped with fitting out the gallery with new plinths and a refurbished desk. The whole process was easy and seamless, and issues were dealt with very fast. The fit out was efficient, so we weren’t closed for longer than necessary. We are thrilled with our new look, much more professional. We’ve had very positive comments about it.
